In Memoriam

Barry Wood

The late Barry Wood

Village HopeCore is saddened to pass on the news that we lost two of our dedicated Board volunteers this year. Max Dunn was one of the pioneers of our organization. Our board met for many years around his kitchen table in Healdsburg, California, and Max helped keep the organization alive during its formative years. Max brought an extensive business background to our organization and served faithfully as treasurer for many years. We were grateful to honor Max and his contribution at our recent fundraising event in Healdsburg. He was proud of the growth in HopeCore and the significant effect we were having on the lives of the people in Chogoria.

We are also saddened to report the sudden passing of Barry Wood, who was one of our most creative and enthusiastic board members. Barry was at the recent Healdsburg event and found time to take KK sailing the following week in his hometown of Camano Island, Washington. Barry was an eager fundraiser for our organization and was in the process of putting together a trip to Baja California that would benefit HopeCore. We are honored by the years of service by both Max and Barry and extend our love and gratitude to their families from the whole HopeCore family.
