Celebrating Three Nurses During Nurses Week 2023

HopeCore nurses

Celebrating and highlighting the HopeCore nurses this week!

We are Celebrating Nurses Week by highlighting three of our own HopeCore Nurses.

Meet Pamela!

HopeCore nurse Pamela

Pamela, HopeCore Nurse

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge one of our newest members of the HopeCore community, Nurse Pamela Makena, who joined us in May last year. Pamela is an incredibly hardworking, committed, and jovial nurse who has been working with us for the past year. She decided to join our organization because we work in the community, and she wanted to make a difference in the lives of her fellow community members.

Pamela has been a nurse for five years, and her passion for nursing began as a child. She has always been inspired to help the sick in her community and put a smile on her patients' faces. Pamela is passionate about her work, and seeing her patients fully recover and be pain-free motivates her the most.

We are lucky to have Pamela as part of our team here at HopeCore, and we are grateful for her hard work, dedication, and commitment to her patients and community.

Meet James Mwenda

James Mwenda, HopeCore Nurse

We would like to take a moment to celebrate one of our most experienced and humble community nurses at HopeCore, James Mwenda. James has been a part of our team since 2017. Students and children in the community love him. Students are always excited to see him whenever he visits schools for our school-based mobile clinics!

James is passionate about his work and loves working at HopeCore because of the availability of medication and equipment. His work is very satisfying because he can help sick patients recover fully. One of his most inspiring experiences was when a child with Hydrocephalus was brought to the clinic. James referred her to Kikuyu Hospital for specialized treatment and closely monitored her progress. The child eventually recovered fully and grew normally in school. Such experiences make James do his work with determination and passion.

We are lucky to have James as part of our team here at HopeCore, and we are grateful for his dedication, compassion, and kindness towards our patients, especially the children. His gentle and caring nature has won the hearts of many children in the community, and we are proud to celebrate him this Nurse's Week.

Thank you, James, for all that you do. Your work is truly inspiring, and we are honored to have you as part of our team!

Meet Sheila Kanana

Community Nurse Sheila Kanana has been with us for one year, and her dedication, hard work, and passion for her work have inspired us all.

Sheila is a compassionate and caring nurse who always goes above and beyond to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care. She is always willing to listen to their concerns and give them the necessary support and encouragement to get through their illnesses.

We are grateful for Sheila’s tireless efforts to improve the health and well-being of our clients, and we are proud to have her as part of our team. Her unwavering commitment to her work is a testament to her selflessness and dedication to improving the world.

Thank you, Sheila, for all that you do, and Happy Nurses Week to all the incredible nurses out there who are making a difference in the lives of others every day!
